Welcome to the 2026 Albert B. Sabin Gold Medal and Rising Star Award nominations portal

Each year, we ask the global health community to nominate individuals who have made significant contributions to vaccinology or a complementary field for consideration for our highest scientific honor, the Albert B. Sabin Gold Medal. Our Rising Star Award seeks to honor an early- to mid-career professional. See below for nomination criteria and instructions for submission.

Demonstrates leadership and a commitment to improving the health of all people, everywhere

Demonstrates leadership and a commitment to improving the health of all people, everywhere

Acts with compassion and integrity in their dealings with colleagues, partners and communities served

Is a scientist, researcher, or public health leader

How to submit a nomination

You will need:  

  • In 250 words or less for each category, describe how your nominee:

    • Exemplifies Sabin’s mission to make vaccines more accessible, enable innovation, and expand immunization across the globe

    • Improved access to vaccines, had a major impact in vaccine research and development, or enabled innovation to expand immunization

    • Demonstrates leadership and a commitment to improving the health of all people, everywhere

    • Acts with compassion and integrity in their dealings with colleagues, partners, and communities served

    • Left an indelible imprint toward the improvement of public health

  • Your nominee’s top peer-reviewed publications (5 for Gold Medal, 2 for Rising Star Award)

  • Your nominee’s CV

Note: Self nominations will not be considered.

  • On the Nominator screen, you will need to register with an email and password OR you can login using your LinkedIn or Google credentials by clicking the icons below the login button

  • Provide your information as a nominator

  • Select which award you are submitting a nomination for

  • Complete the submission form

Note: At any point, you may save your progress and return to complete your nomination by clicking on "My Account". 

For Gold Medal only: 

  • Nominations can be made for individuals or teams. For a team, please list each team member. Add a new team member by clicking the “Add Team Member” button on the Nominee page
